For my course, I have chosen to aim my film at a C1, C2 and D social grade because i think they would be a suitable audience as they would find this particular film appealing. However, I have not chose to aim at social grades A and B as I believe that they would not really be into this genre (being horror) and stereotypically be more interested in cultured films. I also haven't included social E either as with them being elderly, it wouldn't be likely for them to go and see this sort of film and would would be more interested in the old classic films.

I have made my film 15+ as I think this is a suitable age to start advertising my film to as they are common cinema goers and would be interested in this kind of film. Although I have ranged up to 50 years of age as even though they are a lot older, they would of seen horror films in the past and will still be interested in seeing them. I have aimed my film at both genres as I don't think that horror is aimed at a particular gender whereas if you were to have a rom-com it would be aimed more towards females and for an action film, more towards males. The main purpose of a horror film is to make you feel scared which we can get from both genders.
My target audience would be people who regularly attend the cinemas and want to see the new releases. By doing that, they will also see new trailers about up-coming movies that they would want to see and in this case my trailer. This will increase profits of my films release, making it successful.
My audience don't need a high level of education to watch my film as it is easily understandable making my movie suitable for any social class. If my movie were to be a foreign film, people with a weak level of education may find it difficult to read the subtitiles as well as watch the picture at the same time therefore leading them to not understanding what is going on in the film.
